I'm Alisa, the founder and publisher of Welcome Home Huntsville.
When I moved back to Huntsville with my family during the pandemic, I was returning to a place I thought I already knew: I grew up here, after all. But what I found was a city transformed: thriving, growing, full of possibility—and surprisingly hard to navigate, even for someone with deep roots. It made me wonder: If I feel disoriented, how much harder must it be for someone new?
That question sparked the idea for Welcome Home Huntsville. After more than a decade working in academic publishing in Boston, I decided to repurpose my skills to create a new resident guide that felt deeply local, personal, and practical.
